Our Philosophy
Your money should go into the solution and not into the licensing fees and support contracts that accompany non-customizable proprietary options. However, in terms of technology, free shouldn't refer to free of charge, but rather, in the freedom to do what you want with that technology.
Developing upon open-source solutions and designing with web standards allows The .EDU Group to deploy customizable solutions that integrate with existing systems and which can be built upon with future technologies. After we work with you to define, develop, and launch the solution, the work product is yours. By diverting monies otherwise spent on licensing fees and support contracts, you can staff qualified individuals who can sustain and extend the solution and provide you with additional IT resources with no additional fiscal overhead.
A hardened and stable hosting environment and a knowledgeable staff is all that is needed to take the solutions we develop and experience on-going benefits and incurred cost-savings. It is our goal to provide you with something much more than you ever thought you could get for the investment you are making.
Our Process
The user experience development process is all about ensuring that no aspect of the user's experience happens without your conscious, explicit intent. By breaking the job of crafting user experience down into its individual components, we can better understand the problem and goals as a whole. The result is a solution that meets the needs of both users and stakeholders and accomplishes all business objectives.
The following illustrates these component elements. Using this conceptual framework and building from bottom to top we make more specific decisions which involve finer levels of detail. In doing so we are able to take a closer look at how all the pieces fit together to create the whole user experience.
